About

The Lake Marion Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the staff, students and families of Lake Marion Elementary. We offer assistance by coordinating volunteers when needed and offering funds to the school for programs or items that are not included in the school’s annual budget. We obtain these funds through several fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Our annual walk-a-thon is our primary fundraiser, typically funding the majority of our annual budget. In addition, we also offer social opportunities, such as Bingo and Baskets and Activity Day, to enrich our community spirit. Monthly Culver’s Nights are a special opportunity for both community building and fundraising.

Our budget is utilized to support many programs here at LME. For example, the PTO provides funding to cover field trip transportation costs, the school directory, scholarship programs, Presidential Fitness Awards, and 5th Grade Graduation. The PTO enhances your child’s education by providing additional programs such as the Fine Arts Assembly, Scholastic Book Fairs and February “I Love to Read Month” activities. Through specific fundraising, the PTO also ensures that every 5th grader is able to attend Camp St. Croix and receive a yearbook.

The LME PTO would not be possible without the input from teachers and staff, or the parents who give their time and energy for the good of our children. MANY THANKS to all who have made the PTO a success in the past – and to those participating in the upcoming events this year!

Decisions about the direction of the PTO, how it plans to raise funds, and where that money is spent are made at the monthly PTO meetings. Mark your calendar now to attend and voice your opinion – you are the PTO!
